The Final Challenge

The Moon Lord is the hardest boss in Terraria. He has multiple targetable body parts, a devastating death ray, and a healing eye that opens on your character. Don't attempt without full endgame gear and a proper arena.

Preparation

Arena Setup

Build a long skybridge across most of the world (2,000+ blocks). Place Campfires, Heart Lanterns, and Star-in-a-Bottles every 100 blocks. Honey pools at regular intervals. The key is having space to run in one direction while shooting backward.

Strategy

Target Priority

The Moon Lord has three targetable eyes and two hands. Each body part must be destroyed in order:

The Healing Eye

Periodically, a True Eye of Cthulhu spawns above your character. It opens and fires a healing beam at the Moon Lord, restoring about 1,000 HP:

Dodging the Deathray

The Phantasmal Deathray is the Moon Lord's most dangerous attack. It sweeps across the arena in a wide arc:

Class-Specific Tips

Melee: Daybreak applies a stacking sun debuff that deals extra damage. Throw 6-8 javelins, then focus on dodging while the debuff ticks.
Ranged: Phantasm with Holy Arrows is the highest DPS option. Use Chlorophyte Bullets in the Phantasm for homing against the True Eye.
Mage: Last Prism + Nebula Armor (with Mana Flower) is the highest DPS in the game. Aim the prism at each eye in sequence.
Summoner: Stardust Dragon does passive damage while you focus entirely on dodging. The most forgiving class for this fight.
